Dr Phil RSA Has Tales for Africa

Talented DJ and producer, Dr Phil RSA, whose real name is Phillimon Thulo, has made waves with the release of his highly anticipated 7-track EP titled "Tales of Africa."

This EP showcases Dr Phil's signature production style and features collaborations with a stellar lineup of artists, including Peekay Mzee, Canoe Deep, Music Hlonza, Aya Tlhanyane, and Afrodisiak. It's now available on all digital streaming platforms, making it accessible to fans everywhere.

Hailing from a modest background near Kroonstad in Free State, Dr Phil developed a passion for music at an early age. His nickname, "the music Doctor," eventually evolved into his stage name, Dr Phil RSA, as he continued to build his legacy in the music industry. His love for mixing and energizing crowds led him to launch the Prescription Mix Podcast on Apple Music and pursue a vibrant DJ career.

Driven by inspiration from a variety of DJ mixtapes, gigs, and local events, Dr Phil honed his skills and vision, aspiring to reach the same heights as prominent figures like Black Coffee in the AfroHouse and electronic music scene.

In recent years, his bookings have expanded significantly, particularly in Bloemfontein, and he has also collaborated with an international radio station in the UK called Amalgam. Dr Phil RSA's journey took a significant turn when he signed with two UK record labels, WeAreIdlly Records and Deep in My Soul Records, as well as the South African label Manyonie.

His previous EP, "TruNorth," released in 2021, garnered over 100,000 streams worldwide, establishing him as one of the industry's rising stars. Between 2022 and 2025, he followed up with four more EPs and four singles, including exciting collaborations with industry giants like DJ Fresh and Uncle R.

In 2026, he contributed to the Manyonie album alongside renowned artists such as Zakes Bantwini, Drega, and Marco Pex, with his track "SECRETS" making a notable impact.

On the international front, Dr Phil RSA collaborated with Native P on the EP "All My Children" and is currently working on upcoming studio projects with various artists, including Labass (UK), Nomvula SA, Afrozing Gang (SA), and Käy (CA). His journey not only reflects his talent but also his commitment to enriching the music scene locally and globally.
